FAQ

WHERE DO YOU GET EVERYTHING?

The short answer is: everywhere.

We primarily source throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick at thrift stores, auctions, yard sales, and estate sales.

Our favourite local thrift store? Hand In Hand on Herring Cove Road. The prices are great, the selection is big, and the people are kind.

WHO IS FLORENCE?

Florence was my grandmother, however, everyone called her Honey.

It's a name that you don't hear a lot in today's day and age, which speaks to the uniqueness of each piece added to the collection.

Family is a huge part of how this business began and why it continues to grow, so paying homage to my grandmother and her beautiful name made a lot of sense.

Plus, the majority of the pieces at FLORENCE'S COLLECTION were manufactured at the time that she was alive, which is a time I like to reminisce.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO PICK UP MY ITEM?

All items must be picked up within one week of purchase date. We need to make room for new inventory on a daily basis.

Plus... we want to see your piece in it's new home. Snap a photo so we can see how you styled it and share it to our page!

WHY ARE ALL SALES FINAL?

With the nature of buying vintage, we are selling pieces that were manufactured 20+ years ago. This means we can't always determine the life they had before landing in our hands.

Research and discovery helps us understand the age, rarity, and condition of each individual piece so that we can align our pricing with it's worth.

So, while we can't do returns, we promise to give you all of the information you need before you purchase to ensure that you're getting the piece of your dreams.

WHEN DID THIS ALL START?

On April 28, 2019, @florencescollection was born. After a year of selling on Instagram, hosting pop-ups, and vending markets, we made the decision to open our first shop at 2055 North Park Street.

While we were a little delayed in opening due to the global pandemic, we celebrated our grand opening on July 11, 2020.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

Conveniently located at 2055 North Park Street, across from Canada's oldest urban park, the Halifax Commons. Our shop lives in the easily recognizable pink and blue historic house built in the late 1800's, which survived the Halifax Explosion.

We'll see you soon!

WHAT DAYS ARE YOU OPEN?

Currently we are open Saturday's 11-6 PM and Sunday's 12-5PM or by appointment.

Due to limited woman-power, sometimes we have to close unexpectedly, but we always keep you updated on our Instagram story each morning!
